Albany Leadership Charter School for Girls was the first all-girls, public, charter high school in the city of Albany. Led by a dynamic team of leaders, ALCS strives to be the premier college preparatory school for young women in the Capital District. The school opened it’s doors in September 2010 to approximately 150 ninth and tenth grade scholars. Now, we are a 6-12 continuum!
Our goal is to prepare, empower, and encourage our students to successfully transition to post-secondary education. ALCS believes that education should be available and attainable for all girls and that by eliminating false gender stereotypes, fostering a love of learning and leadership, and setting high standards, they know that our scholars will rise to the challenge.
