‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’ Walk
Albany Leadership continues to participate in the ‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’ walk in Washington Park. The school gathers students, staff, parents and alumni to participate as a team and continue to build relationships with the community.
Be sure to continue checking the school calendar for event updates!
The Event
The annual event brought over 8,000 people to Washington Park to celebrate and advocate for the losses from breast cancer, as well as the survivors. Over 20 representatives from Albany Leadership attended the event and supported our community.
ALCS Service Learning
ALCS wants students to be more involved in the community as we feel it helps to build character and leadership skills. We require the students to obtain 100 hours of service learning hours before they can graduate. Our service learning program is open to students of any grade, and we encourage everyone to participate to gain their hours.
We have many opportunities for students throughout the school year, and this breast cancer walk was one of the service learning opportunities for our students. Some students made poster boards to carry at the walk.
