March is the time to celebrate! With our upcoming spring events and activities, it is only fitting that we celebrate the academic achievements of our top students of the graduating class of 2021!
Our proudest moment is celebrating our Class of 2021 Valedictorian and Salutatorian! We are proud to announce and ask you to join us in celebrating Rebecca Akinwale, who is our Valedictorian, and Sabaa Othman, who is our Salutatorian!
We were able to surprise both Rebecca and Sabaa at home with their families to celebrate their achievements! It was wonderful to see our students reactions and spend time with them and their families to acknowledge their hard work that has gotten them to where they are now.
Since their freshmen year, these ladies have maintained a place on our Honor Roll/ High Honor Roll List and have proven to dedicate themselves to all of their academic endeavors. They embody our value in leadership as they have gone above and beyond in participating in our service-learning program. To date, Rebecca has over 120 hours of service learning and Sabaa has over 110 hours. These hours are not including the internships that they are both participating in with our partner, Mission Accomplished Transition Services for the Social Entrepreneurship Institute. In addition to their academics and service outside of the school, they are both members of the ALH Ambassador Group, speaking with younger students and families about Albany Leadership.
While Sabaa and Rebecca have not yet committed to specific colleges, Sabaa plans to study engineering in college and is also a savvy fashionista and entrepreneur. Rebecca plans to study Political Science in college and has been very active on the ALH basketball team. Congratulations to Sabaa and Rebecca!
