The teachers and Staff of Albany Leadership are hopeful that all of our students and their families will have a safe and joyous holiday season. We also recognize the national concern with combating child hunger, and we have continued to do our part with our Meal-To-Go Program.
Nationally, 1 in 5 children experiences hunger which impacts their ability to achieve in school. School breakfast and lunch programs help to combat this issue, but when schools break for a holiday, access to food can be difficult. That is why Albany Leadership offered families a holiday Meal-To-Go which, included Halal options. Albany Leadership has opened up this opportunity for any child in an ALH household who is under the age of 18, even if they don’t attend ALH. Students, parents, or guardians had an opportunity to submit a request through our online form. All bags will be prepared for pick up on December 21 and December 22.
