Albany Leadership is very excited to announce a partnership with The Junior Achievement of Northeastern New York in an effort to increase student learning of business concepts, economics, and personal finance.
Albany Leadership educators, Mr. Patterson and Mr. Hines will be implementing the JA Finance Park Advanced Program curriculum into their classrooms. This curriculum is a hands-on simulation that will help students learn how to manage, budget, and assess their personal finances as adults. Some of the activities include, budgeting employment income with housing costs (rent), childcare, or lifestyle purchases such as cars or other means of transportation. This simulation is localized to include stores and businesses that are found in the Capital Region!
Mr. Hines is very excited to implement this program into his classes.
“I am most excited about the students being able to experience real-life scenarios and strengthen their decision-making skills before they become adults. I hope this program and simulation reinforces positive and prosperous decisions in their future.”
The Junior Achievement Finance Park Advanced Program and curriculum will begin this January 2021.
