Albany Leadership received a $5,000 grant from the CAP COM Cares Foundation to support students and families in a unique and sustainable way. With the one-year anniversary of the start of the pandemic behind us, Albany Leadership is moving forward to support our students and families in combatting food insecurity in the Capital Region. This year, Albany Leadership’s staff worked together to ensure that ALH families continue to have healthy meals to support student growth and development during this challenging time.
To date, this year, Albany Leadership has provided over 600 meals through the Food for Thought Food Pantry. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, ALH has noticed an increase in the number of meals needed throughout the academic year and during our holiday breaks. With the support of CAP COM, Albany Leadership will be able to continue and expand the food pantry and create a sustainable meal-to-go program that ALH families can rely on throughout the upcoming academic year. With the support from CAP COM, Albany Leadership is able to continue its partnership with the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern NY to purchase healthy foods for the Food for Thought Pantry. Albany Leadership is very grateful to the CAP COM Cares Foundation for this grant and the opportunities it provides to ALH students and families.
