At Albany Leadership, we #ChooseToChallenge gender stereotypes and biases through our college preparatory all-girls school and program initiatives. We highlight the three major advantages for girls who are educated in a single-gender school. They include expanded educational opportunities, custom-tailored learning and instruction, and greater autonomy of thought and expression. Single-gender schools help to foster an environment where our girls can continue to think for themselves and take control of their own lives. We #ChooseToChallenge by eliminating false gender stereotypes, and work to empower our girls to explore all academic subjects and pursue excellence in all disciplines. We emphasize the value and importance of young women of color in STEM, Political Science, Business, and other predominantly male-dominated fields and industries. It is for these reasons that ALH believes that the opportunity to experience a single-gender education, should be one that is offered freely to any and all girls who would choose it.
